Byron Bay, Noosa & Fraser Island

So I continue to make my way up the coast. After a long train trip from Newcastle I got to Byron Bay, one of the top surfing locations in Australia. It was pretty touristy, apparently kids like to surf. Who knew? I was only there for a couple days and took a surf lesson which was a lot of fun. My instructor's name was Cookie. Awesome. I managed to get up and "surf", it was a ton of fun. I highly recommend anyone to try it.

I took a bus up to Noosa which is a couple hours north of Brisbane. It is a very shi-shi town with a gorgeous riviera setting. Noosa was my launching pad for Fraser Island, the biggest sand island in the world. This island is without a word of a lie, paradise. I will let my pictures do the talking.

Next stop: Cairns, Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas for some reef and rainforest excursions.
