Siem Reap

Lao is sadly over. I am now in Cambodia. Over the past couple days I have been seeing temples in the famous Angkor Wat area, just north of Siem Reap. There are temples scattered over a large area, with most of the heavy hitters being in an inner core. I won't bore you all with each and every temple I saw, but the real gems that stood out were The Bayon with its huge faces, Ta Prohm which was used to shoot parts of Tomb Raider, Banteay Srei having hands down the most ornate and delicate carvings, Preah Khan with its stunning south entrance, and of course the big daddy of them all, Angkor Wat which is on a similar scale to the Taj Mahal. Aside from the templing, the heat in Siem Reap limited my activities to drinking beer and finding cool places to hide.
This will be the extent of my Cambodian experience. I have some unfinished bidnizz in Vietnam, so the last ten days of my trip will be spent there. Back to Saigon!
