Hoi An
My first stop along the central coast was in Hoi An. Hoi An is a very old city with a ton of sites. The weather was pretty crappy while I was there, so I saw only a few sites and engaged in indoor activities such as eating and clothes shopping. One sight I did get to see outside of town was Mỹ Sơn. My Son is a Hindu temple comlex that dates back 600-1400 years. During the Vietnam War, this area was covered in jungle and was used by the Viet Cong as cover. The US bombed the area and destroyed a number of the temples.
Next stop is Huế further north up the central coast.
